Michelle Rodney joined the CCASH Board of Directors this year. Over the past 29 years Michelle has had a range of professional experiences with culturally and socially economically diverse communities. She has earned an Honours Philosophy and Psychology degree from McMaster University, and several specialized education qualifications since beginning her teaching career. Michelle has held significant roles in both the Hamilton Wentworth District School Board (HWDSB) and the Toronto District School Board. She is the current System Principal of Equity for the HWDSB, co-leading the implementation of the HWDSB Equity Action Plan with a dedicated team of professionals. She is also honored to be chosen to serve on the Ontario Principal’s Council Equity Diversity and Inclusion committee, representing administrators from across the province of Ontario. She believes in using transparent communication and collaboration to help students and families build capacity and foster successful relations. Michelle believes that faith helps people approach each other through an asset lens and everyone has strengths they can call on. She believes in having equity and inclusion as a foundational framework and that we can assist people in achieving outcomes that aid in producing a better environment for all. Ultimately Michelle believes that all youth can succeed with caring adult support and is honored to serve on the CCASH Board of Directors. Her greatest joy is being mother to a wonderful daughter.
