The Catholic Children’s Aid Society of Hamilton provides services to children, youth, and families living in Hamilton Region. People often believe that children’s aid societies have a mandate to remove children from their homes; that is why they are reluctant to contact such an organization. In fact, 98% of the children we serve remain in their homes while we work with their families to improve their ability to keep children safe and thriving.

We only need to remove a child from their home 2% of the time to ensure their safety. In such a case, we place the child with a relative, foster family, or other suitable home in preparation for the child’s return home. When this is not possible, we consider possibilities of permanent placement with a relative or an adoptive family.

We work with other community organizations to ensure our clients have full access to the help they need and contribute to the well-being of all children, youth, and families in Hamilton.
